Tirta Spa Sun Worshipper

Many people just can’t get enough sun. It is, simply, an object of worship. Nature’s freely-flowing, warm energy is too irresistible to ignore, but enjoying those cosmic rays should not be undertaken with reckless abandon. Exposure to the sun’s harsh rays can, too often, result in painful sunburn, skin discoloration and dehydration. Even on a cloudy day, the sun’s rays are still strong enough to harm the skin.

Long before Tirta Spa was conceived, proprietor, spa director and self-professed sun-worshipper, En Calvert, adopted a strict beauty regime, particularly when going on holiday to the beach. Before heading out into the sun and applying her sun protection cream, En would scrub or polish her whole body, exfoliating the epidermis layer of the skin, revealing the new skin beneath. That way, once she was on the beach, the effect of the sun would be an even, all-over tan. Equally, once the day in the sun was over, she would apply a body mask that would hydrate and replenish the skin, thus avoiding the dryness and dehydration that the sun can cause. In order to help you to protect your skin and to maintain that youthful image, En has shared with us the secret, personal rituals that have helped her to ensure an even, glowing Sun Goddess tan - before- and after-sun rituals that she calls Tirta Spa’s Boracay Sunrise and Sunset Treatments. These treatments address the need for proper skin care, before and after hitting the beach and are part of a skin-pampering regime that helps to create an even tan, whilst keeping the skin properly hydrated. Tirta Spa’s perfect therapy for the sun-lover in everyone.

BORACAY SUNRISE (before-sun treatment)

This treatment consists of facial and body exfoliation, intended to create a smooth skin for even tanning. The procedure calls for a natural head-to-toe exfoliation using Dead Sea salt to rough off dead skin. The salt is complimented by natural wild honey, protecting your body from dehydration. A Tirta Signature Massage concludes the treatment.

BORACAY SUNSET (after-sun treatment)

A conditioning and nourishing mask is applied to the tender or dehydrated skin. The iron content and essential minerals in the clay help to replenish and regenerate the epidermis of the skin. This softens and conditions the sun-exposed skin, leaving it supple and with a healthy glow.
The Facial Pink Clay is perfect for balancing stressed and sensitive skin, as it creates a youthful appearance with the additional benefits of ultimate hydration and good skin tone. The clay’s rejuvenating properties help refine delicate lines, moisturize and improve the overall skin texture. After the face and body masking, a very light massage, making use of essential oils of lavender and geranium follows, to balance and heal the skin.

For those suffering from sunburn or other skin ailments, as the result of over-exposure to the sun, Ms En Calvert, who herself is an internationally-certified aromatherapy expert, can, depending upon the skin condition, blend a bespoke mix of oils. A combination of Patchouli, Palmarosa, Lavender, Carrot seed, Geranium and other oils is used as a natural treatment and, too, as an anti-aging skin therapy.
